About Artwork

Julia’s interest in familial ties and the essence of spirit extends into her fine art photography. Her work has been influenced by her love of surrealism and interest in the family.

In her body of work, A Family Seen, Julia examines blood ties, memories of the family, and especially the subtle play between believed reality and imagined reality. The broken narrative of this lineage questions the role of nostalgia in the search for truth and intangible bonds that remain after a separation.

Her Untitled series captures the movement and grace of a woman dancing. This woman’s head is in the clouds and she is unaware of her observers; she is lost unto herself. In this internal space the woman is graceful, in tune with her inner truths and desires. This is her essential self.

Julia’s artwork is represented by Freddie Fong Contemporary Art in San Francisco, CA.
