Julia Parker - Curriculum Vitae

Julia Parker, also known as Julia Parker-Pribuss, received her B.F.A and M.F.A. from the San Francisco Art Institute.

Julia’s work has been shown locally at Freddie Fong Contemporary, Camerawork Gallery, Herbst Pavilion in Fort Mason Center, Limn Gallery, Bruce Velick Gallery and the Green Gallery. Her work has been published by The Friends of Photography, San Francisco. Nationally her work has been displayed at the Kresge Art Museum at Michigan State University, Scottsdale Center for the Arts, the Eastern Shore Art Center in Fairhope Alabama, Brush Art Gallery at St. Lawrence University, Virginia Beach Center for the Arts, Atlanta College of Art, Klein Gallery in Chicago, Twining Gallery and SOHO Photo in New York City, as well as at the Catskill Center for Photography in Woodstock, NY. Internationally Julia has had shows at Gallerie Gottardo in Lugano Switzerland, the Royal Photographic Society in Bath England, Petofi Literary Museum in Budapest Hungary, The Tel Aviv Museum of Art in Israel and at Photokina in Cologne Germany.

Julia’s work has been published in the premier issue of See Journal of the Visual Arts put out by the Friends of Photography, Art Press International, Selections V by Polaroid International, Parenting Magazine, SF Magazine, Artweek, Woodstock Times, Monterey Life, American Baby, SF Chronicle, Art In America and ArtForum. Her work was also published in the book A Kiss is Just a Kiss alongside an introduction by Tom Robbins.

Julia’s work was purchased three consecutive years by the International Polaroid Permanent Collection. Her work is in collections and has appeared in auctions around the world. In recent years she has been recognized for her achievement as a sensitive photographer of children and the relationship between parent and child. This sensitivity was the feature of a TGIF Channel 4 Program. Julia currently travels worldwide doing commissioned portrait sittings.
